Tutor Training course information.

Background:
Our aim is to enable all adults involved with coaching/teaching or as parents/guardians to be aware of the benefits of good nutrition and to promote healthy eating habits, particularly with reference to sports and physical activity – helping children to achieve their potential.

GNAC™ Tutors are vital in the process in order to disseminate the messages nationally in easy-to-understand and simple to follow methods.

As a Tutor, you will gain satisfaction in sharing this knowledge and aiming to improve standards. Clubs and schools will gain recognition in Quality Assessments and inspections.

Opti-Me Limited is there to support Tutors and provides easy access for support, queries and information.

Tutors will be provided with materials to consolidate learning for their students, and will signpost and promote The Food Crew website for sustaining and embedding good nutrition www.thefoodcrew.org.uk.

 

  1. Criteria for training course applicants and pre-qualifications:
    • Sports Coaches: minimum Level 1 coaching qualification in the sport that you will be delivering to
    • Fitness Professionals: minimum Level 2 in the discipline that you will be delivering to
    • Other trainees: minimum teaching qualification PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) within 3 years of completion
  2. Signed and returned GNAC™ Tutor Agreement
  3. Current Enhanced CRB certificate kept in date for the duration of course delivery
    Licensing system: All successful GNAC™ Tutors receive their first year’s license to deliver the course in the course fee. Annual renewal license fee.
